Logistics Associate

The Logistics Associate will report to the Logistics Manager. They will be responsible for monitoring the inventory of supplies routinely used by the organization’s various sites, departments and projects. They will interact with designated in-house contacts with a view to identifying and addressing their needs. The role will also entail coordinating the procurement of supplies and the purchase of services, while making sure established objectives and timelines are met. Additionally, the role requires performing sporadic manual labor for 1-2 days per week as part of the job responsibilities.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reception of various chemicals and keeping the inventory up to date
  • Placing orders as needed according to internal policies
  • Replenishing solvent cabinets
  • Replenishing consumables rooms
  • Restocking laboratories with various consumables
  • Inspecting laboratory showers
  • Replacing light bulbs in the building
  • Moving and installing various furniture
  • Performing minor building repairs

Required Education and Qualifications:

  • DEC in Logistics or equivalent
  • Experience in logistics, or a similar role
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Attention to detail and strong time management skills
  • Written bilingualism is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access a plus) at a beginner-intermediate level
  • Ability to work with and adapt to various software applications and quick to learn new technologies
  • Ability to perform minor repairs and installations

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs if necessary
  • Comfort working in a warehouse or distribution environment
