Job Description

Our Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetic (DMPK) department is seeking a versatile and results-oriented individual to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate is expected to have experience in liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry techniques with strong interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate will be expected to work independently within a team structure, to develop LC-MS/MS methods, prepare bioanalysis samples and to actively participate to scientifically challenging projects. The key responsibilities of the successful candidate include the following:

  • Perform routine bioanalysis including development of LC-MS/MS methods for small or large molecule detection, optimize sample extraction methods in different matrices, prepare PK samples for bioanalysis and acquire, process and report data to supportour research teams.
  • Successfully develop analytical approaches for the quatification of a broad selection of test compounds having various physico-chemical properties (e.g. protein, glycan, pegylated or small polar compounds).
  • Conduct metabolite identification studies on cold compounds. Knowledge of Compound Discoverer software will be considered an asset.
  • Operate, maintain and troubleshoot LC-MS/MS systems. Good knowledge of Thermo systems will be considered an asset.
  • Participate to the extension of the department assay portfolio.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. or MSc in chemistry, biochemistry or closely related discipline. Experience in Biotech/Pharma preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in HPLC and mass spectrometry, and Xcalibur software.
  • Experience in GC-MS or proteomics is an asset.
  • Can Identify experimental problems, troubleshoot, and modify research strategy accordingly, with input from supervisor.
  • Demonstrated hand-on experience on the system hardware.
  • Good sense of priority and urgency to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
