Associate Scientist or Scientist – In Vitro DMPK

We are currently seeking for an in vitro DMPK Associate Scientist or Scientist an 18 months contract.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a member of the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetic (DMPK) group, the candidate will be in charge of performing standardized experimentations/protocols, aiming at the screening and profiling of drug candidates on the basis of their in vitro ADME profile.  The work will mainly consist of classical bench work and cell culture and data analysis.

The successful candidate possesses 2 to 5 years of experience in DMPK or in a related pharmacology field with a good knowledge of the different biological mechanisms involved in the absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of novel chemical entity.  Experience working with hepatocytes, Caco-2 and/or MDCK cells will be considered an asset.  Good communication skills and capacity to deliver results in a stringent schedule while maintaining excellent work quality is essential.

Major Responsibilities

  • Maintain cell culture.
  • Performed standardized in vitro DMPK protocols:
    • Liver microsomal, hepatocyte and plasma stability.
    • Plasma protein binding.
    • Absorption assays (Caco-2, MDCK, MDCK-MDR1).
  • Data analysis and reporting.

Qualifications

  • University degree in biochemistry, pharmacology or related scientific field.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in the industry working within a DMPK or pharmacology group.
  • Demonstrated skills working with cells (hepatocytes, Caco-2, MDCK considered an asset).
  • Demonstrated team work spirit with capability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple projects with constantly changing priorities and deadlines.
